Updates are required to maintain the apps and ensure they are working properly. Ledger rolls out regular updates that users should install. However, there are times when these installations cause unwanted problems.

In this tutorial, we will go over some fixes that you can follow to help you get your Ledger Nano S device back to running mode. Please note that while this is specifically for Windows 10, the fixes might be global, hence might work on other systems too.

Fixes

Make sure you are using the latest version of Ledger Live.

If during the Ledger Nano S update to firmware version 1.6 your device is stuck on Update and Ledger Live displays an error message follow the instructions below:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of Ledger Live.
  2. Connect your device, without pressing any button.
    The device should display ‘Update’.
  3. Go to the ‘Manager’ tab in Ledger Live.
Ledger Live resumes the update from where it was interrupted.

If this does not fix the issue, try the following.

Run Ledger Live in Administrator mode

To do this, go to the App icon on your desktop right-click on it, and from the available options select ‘Run as Administrator’. That’s yet.

Still not fixed?

If after following these fixes the issue is still not fixed, then it is best to get in touch with the Ledger support team and ask for extra help.

Conclusion

Updates are important to perform to ensure the systems operate as intended. There are times when errors occur while updating your Ledger Live firmware. If this is the issue you are experiencing, use this as a guide to help you fix the problem. If all these options don’t seem to sort out the problem, you should get in touch with the Ledger support team, there might be able to provide alternative solutions.
